Transport Planner Permanent

Manpower UK are recruiting on behalf of our successful Warehouse and distribution client for a Collections Planner. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful company who can offer you training and career progression.

The successful candidate will work alongside the current collections planner and assist with the day to day live planning for the collection of goods for onward dispatch via our clients network. The overall aim is to provide a professional and effective solution for our clients customers to move their freight through the UK primarily on a next day service, utilising a fleet of vehicles from 3.5Tonne to articulated units and trailers.

The successful candidate would have previous knowledge and experience in the use of transport systems and must be IT literate, have strong & precise communication skills, good customer service , the ability to work to tight deadlines and be competent in making decisions where required to meet the requirements of the customer when needed.

Main Duties Include:

• Ensure all customer collections are planned and on time., ensuring utilising the vehicle capacity.
• Drivers hours are monitored and evenly spread across the fleet.
• The effective planning of vehicles / trailers for service are returned to depot by agreed time, ensuring information is passed workshop / service agent of expected time of return.
• Monitor key accounts & customer concerns ensuring they are kept as a high priority.
• Proactively provide collection ETA's for all key accounts in a structured manner.
• Effective response of collection queries.
• Liaise and support collection planner where required.
• Ensure clear information is recorded on late/ failed / upgraded collections, investigate issue to remove or reduce any further occurrence.
• Take incoming calls from Drivers, member depots, customers.
• Assist with driver debrief for motor vehicle incident with initial incidents.
