We’re committed to investing in our people—developing the skills, knowledge and career opportunities that help our teams succeed and build long-term careers with us.\nAbout the Role\nTo support the operations of our busy London branch, Selwood Pump Rental Solutions are pleased to be adding the position of Yard Supervisor to our friendly team, based our at our branch site in London (Dartford).\nThis role will provide vital support to the branch operations and will be yard based supervising and assisting with various duties in conjunction with the loading and unloading of lorries to ensure timely delivery of our pumps and associated equipment in time to meet our customers expectations.\nMAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:\n * To continually look for ways to improve Health & Safety and ways to make processes more efficient by reporting any hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents promptly and according to company reporting procedures.\n * To ensure the yards and workshops are in a clean, tidy and organised state at all times.\n * To assist with loading and unloading of vehicles, checking items against paperwork to ensure accuracy of deliveries and collections.\n * Carrying out Post Hires for equipment.\n * To organise hose and accessory item storage, to include keeping a check on levels available and to maintain communication with regards to the scrap stock that needs to be disposed of.\n * To assist all other members of the depot when required with tasks, i.e. lifting, moving, in depot or on-site.\n * To help clean hire equipment prior to entry to workshop.\n * To be able to communicate accurately to your supervisor, work colleagues and customers re job specifications when required e.g. ETA’s and missing and damaged items.\n * Ensure direct reports are trained and competent to complete their role and identify and highlight any gaps in knowledge to the Branch Manager/Operations Manager.\n * Daily checks of the yard to ensure it is a safe working environment and identifying potential hazards and risks and removing and reporting, as required.\n * Relay key information about movements on site (including toolbox talks) to the yard team and ensure it is being embedded into the ways of working.\n * Helping prepare, ancillaries and accessories for all jobs going out on hire.\n * To carry out small deliveries and collections to or from customer’s sites, suppliers or inter branch.\n * Flexibility to support the team by working overtime as and when required by the business, this can include evenings and weekends.\n * To participate in the on-call rota, if required by the branch to meet business deliverables.\nQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:\n * Previous work history within a similar environment\n * Good communicator with a can do attitude.\n * Experience in working in a team with supervising experience preferred.\n * Forklift Licence would be preferred.\n * Rigger, loading or banksman training would be advantageous.\n * Reliability is essential for this position.\n * Basic use of Office Suite\n * Physically fit due to the nature of the work within this role.\n * Full UK Driving Licence\nWhat We Can Do For You\nWe understand balancing work and life commitments isn’t always easy, that’s why we’ve designed our benefits package to support you in all areas of life.\nCompetitive salary\nEligible for overtime pay (for additional hours and call outs)\n25 days holiday (plus length of service increases) + 8 Bank Holidays\nHoliday buying (up to an additional week)\nMedical cash plan for yourself – reimburse health costs e.g.
